ASSIGNMENT INFORMATION

Grading Ruberic:

Create 3-5 personal content pages. Post the url to your personal brand home page (e.g., http://www.rohan.sdsu.edu/~username) under URL forum on Blackboard Discussions. Your pages must include a URL link to a “homepage,” a blog, and a link to a survey.

Before completing the assignment determine pillars for your personal brand and identify critical brand elements. Provide a summary to this information in your submission post (information to include is indicated with an asterisk below).

1.Choose a handful of qualities about yourself that you want to be known for. What collection of attributes do you want to be known for by the world? List of 4 or 5 qualities about yourself and decide which of them is the most important. If someone could define you by one qualtity, which would it be? Write a statement that emphasizes your primary quality while including the others. (This is your “elevator statement”). *This should be the introduction to your web content.

2. Determine a narrative about yourself that is the evidence of your identity. Identify critical content that supports your personal brand identity. Determine keywords that match this brand identity. The digital content you create/include in your web content should be consistent with this. *Provide a brief overview of the narrative and indicate related keywords.

The narrative that I have selected is actually on my resume and it’s the damned truth. Firstly, my mother is an artist and my dad an engineer. I have inherited a good amount of both their strong traits. Regarding the second part, I truly love being a student, not just at school but a student of the world. Meeting new people, hearing new stories, visiting new locations, trying new foods (to an extent). I love knowledge, experience, wisdom. They all fuel inspiration. Lastly, I am a firm believer in being proud of your world. I admire and strive for greatness in whatever I do. For the most part, perfection so anything close to it is a proud accomplishment.

3. Choose a look, feel, and personality for your web content. (sophisticated, technical, creative etc.) *Indicate briefly in your discussion board post.

The aesthetics of it are sophisticated and modern yet clean and inviting; this will allow for both personal and professional use. Most of all, ease of navigation, readability, and consumption are paramount. I could have the best message but if it can’t be found under the clutter then it is for not. Also, I hope that the pride I have in my work echoes out of this website.

4. Choose a color palette for your profiles and website (and perhaps a logo). I should recognize a general.* Indicate briefly in your discussion board post.

My color palate is mostly blacks, greys, whites with a few pops of color (green is my favorite color). To that, I’ve tried to use pleasing color combinations with the limited tools that I had.

5. Determine outbound and inbound links that will be valuable to your identify. Include outbound links in your web content and *list inbound links in your discussion board post.

Inbound links would include:

- A link from my mom’s websites (I am her number one fan; she has photos of me and links to my information already)
o www.sonshyne.com
o www.aspenhotglass.com
o www.dreamkitty.biz
- My linkedin profile (in the work experience section)

- A link to my pintrest page (in interests section)
- Links to my various employers
www.kuoni-dmc.com
www.dekofloralarts.com
www.atlantisevents.com
o www.wtcsd.org

6. Determine a method of contact for people who discover your brand and want to connect with you. *Indicate in your discussion board post or implement in your web content.

Located on the "About Me" page

7. *Indicate a domain name you would purchase for your personal brand site. Indicate where you would host your site and what package you would purchase (explain).

I have already done so—not for the purpose of this class but just to make sure I had my website URL in my backpocket, just in case. I purchased the domain from godaddy.com and renew it every 3 years. I have the most basic subscription level which allows use for use of basic website design tools included with the domain.
